About us

Hennich & Hanschel

Actually, Hennich & Hanschel are our "nicknames", our "real" names are Jan-Henning Walker and Hannes Brogmus.

As the Singer-Songwriter-Duo Hennich & Hanschel, we have been performing together on stages all over Germany since 2015. With our songs and contributions we vary between cabaret and comedy. Sometimes politically, sometimes humorously, we deal with what concerns us.

While we had been working as guest and adventure guides since our studies, we founded our company “Hennich & Hanschel City Tours Trier” in the summer of 2019.

Jan-Henning Walker

I am originally from Münster, a city in the north west of Germany. Via Giessen (in the middle of Germany) and Paris I ended up in Trier to study political science and Romance studies.

I love being able to show people around my todays hometown of Trier. For me, guided tours are much more than just sharing knowledge and history. I would like to take you on a journey through time through Trier's city history, where I will make you relive the history in many small anecdotes.

My tours are lively, exciting, funny, a bit interactive and can sometimes make you think.

Hannes Brogmus

I am originally from Flensburg which is in the north of Germany and moved to Trier in 2007 to study history and educational sciences. After my studies, I decided to stay here to literally turn my hobby into a career.

The city of Trier, the people, the cultural scene and, of course, the diverse history continue to impress me every day anew.
During my tours I would like to share my enthusiasm for our fascinating city. The nice thing for me is that every tour is different.

I'm really looking forward to giving you an overview of Trier's history, but also its present.
My tours are relaxed, personal, funny, serious and informative.

Our Philosophy

With our city tours we want to offer our guests a cultural experience. As tour guides and musicians, it is very important to us to make culture accessible to everyone.

So if you are a club, a family or a group that would like to go on a city tour but our prices exceed your budget, please contact us. We will definitely find a solution.

Our tours through the city are barrier-free except the tours through the Roman buildings. We are happy to provide information about these tours as wel. We always adapt all of our tours to our groups, including in “simple language”.
